Question:
I have a nissan altima 2005 with a factory fitted stereo system with a cd changer, cassette player and radio. The left side speakers keep going off and on or the volume in them becomes low on a random basis, but this only happens while listening on the cd player. I've tried to make the car go on bumps and stuff also but that does'nt affect the volume; the most affect happens when i brake (speakers goes off) accelerate with a jerk (speakers go on). Please help its really frustrating !

It might be that your volume dimms down at lower speeds and gets louder at higher speeds. It is now becoming common in most cars because it is suppose to keep the music at the level of loudness the whole time by drowning out engine noise. Read your cars manual to see how you can turn off this feature. If it still does this afterwards I would take it back to the dealership and explain your problem to them. Hopefully you are under the warranty like the person before me said because electrical problems can be a nightmare to chase and very costly in labor. Since this only happens with the CD player and not the radio or cassette deck it must not be a speaker wire issue. The only other thing I could really think of is either a defective CD player or a possible alternator problem, but I'm not sure. It may even be a battery problem.
