Question:
Hi, I have a base edition 2002 Camaro with the 4 speaker system. The radio has the built in CD player, and thats it! I would love to upgrade the speakers, but I hate the look of aftermarket radios. My question is, can you replace the speakers and leave the radio alone? Do you have to replace all the wires and all of that mess or can you just pop in new speakers? What speakers would you recommend. Nothing extreme, but nothing cheap :-) THANKS!
Answers:
If i hook two 12's and a 15 sub up, will it sound good, or should i not mix different sized subs?
you can change them with little problem may need to splice them togetherYou can just pop in the new speakers, but remember to disconnect the battery first, otherwise you can fry one side of your head unit. I would also suggest a small amplifier, you will notice a big difference I recommend a high end Boston Acoustics system, it is very clean, it is what I run, I have a very elaborate system tho
What do I need for my new car stereo?
You do not have to replace the stereo or replace the wiring to replace the speakers. However, I'm not sure what big advantage you would have changing the speakers because the stock speakers you have now (GM/Delco) are probably just as good. If you want premium speakers they would probably be rated at higher wattage.and to get the most out of them.you may have to add an amplifier (still can do with factory stereo) or get a new aftermarket stereo that pushes higher watts per channel than your stock stereo. It all depends on what you're after!More Questions & Answers ...
