I am a beginner to car audio and need help figuring out what i need.?

Question:
I own a '98 Izuzu rodeo, have no experience with car audio, and hate the sound of having no bass because the previous owner blew out the subwoofers. I do not know anything about subwoofers, speakers, amps, and anything else there is. I was wondering if anybody could clue me in on the basics, and maybe some tips and suggestions as to what parts to buy and maybe even from where. Even little bits and pieces would be helpful. Thanks in advance =)

Is there a car CD adapter to play cassettes, same way how CDs are played in car cassette player?

to start off, if you want more bass you will need subs and an amp to power the subs as well as a box to mount the subs. Good subs are alpine and kicker, however the can be pricey. As far as amps, again kicker and alpine are good, as is mtx, eclipse. a decent sounding low price amp is a bazooka, however they do have a problem with overheating. The box needed to mount the subs can be made with simple math and carptentry skills, as well as a saturday afternoon. However if your not gonna spend the time and make the box right, its not worth it, a sub can only sound as good as the box its in. In addition to getting subs, a box and an amp, i would suggest getting a new deck to be able to fine tune your sound as well as give a clean output to your amp. Most decks $150 and up wil have equalizer, bass, treble and sub controls so you can get your subs tuned correctly. With all this of course you are going to have to have installation parts wich include power and ground wire, and a fuse holder to power the amp. at retail stores this usually runs about $50. you will also need rca cables to connect the stereo to the amp, and these you can get anywhere from $20-100, depending on the quality. i suggest the ones around $50. if you use a stock radio, you will also need an output converter to tap into your speaker output from the radio and convert them to rca jacks for the rca cables to plug into. some of these kits will come with speaker wire, but if not you will also need this. i tell you this becuase at stores you add everything up, the sub box and amp, and a lot of the time people forget there is an extra 100-150 in wiring to hook it all up. hope this is helpful. if you have any more questions let me know.

how to hock up an?

because you are a beginner i suggest this: go to as many car stereo store as you can, tell them what you have to spend, listen to their suggestions and figure out from there what will work for you. be honest and most installers will be glad to help you. alot of us remember what it was like when we started and it makes us feel good to help out. good luck.

Subwoofer system?

well for 200 bucks u arent going to get much (at all) u might accidently buy a good head unit (cd player). if u decide to spend more i would buy a 12 in. rockford fosgate and about a 1000 watt amp. that would give u a good sound plus alot of bass.
