Mind Blower Speakers were out in the 70's. Each one had there own amp built onto the back of the magnet. I am restoring a old hot rod truck and I want to keep it real in detail that was available in the 70's. Any help would be helpful.

I was around way back in the '70's. Even then those amplified speakers sucked.don't bother. Back then Jensen Triaxial speakers were all the rage. Just go with something like a set of coaxial or triaxials...Pioneer and Jensen were both pretty hot then. As for your head unit...I would go with an indash AM/FM cassette. No CD's back then. Install a CD changer...(hidden) if you want better sound quality. Believe or not we did have amplifiers then too...not as powerful as we have now though. 30 watts X 2 was a big (equalizer/amplifier) then. Most head units have that much power built in now. If you want more.by all means do it.
