Dodge Dakota Stereo Questions?

Question:
Do u need a seperate chip to make an after market stereo work? I took out the stock stereo and but in an aftermarket cd player and only the tuner worked, not the cds. I've tried to use other stereos no luck. It's a 2000 please help

How good is the sound quality for the auxiliary input on car stereos?

most likely the radio you installed has to remote wires. one for antenna(blue) and one for amp turn on (blue/w white stripe). make sure you connected the blue/white not the blue or just the tuner will play and not the CD as you described. hope this helps.
