I drive a 1999 Honda Civic, nothing special, and just upgraded my head unit to an Alpine CDA-9815. Now things sound pretty good right now, but I want to buy some new speakers so I can really appreciate my music and notice the difference. I want it to sound great and not cost an arm and a leg. Any advice would be GREAT!

try going to a stereo shop and ask to listen to a bunch of different speakers. I like the new kenwood KFC-1651S they have great staging and the price is just right I wouldn't spend more than $150 per pair.My 12 inch JLw3 rubber seal around the outside is coming apart?
i have everything alpine and rockford fosgateLightning Audio, manufactured by Rockford Fosgate(yes, really) have nice budget speakers. I have a friend that has the 6x9's and 2 12's. The 6x9's get 100watts rms each. The 12's get 350watts rms each. It is Very loud, and clear.
The best part is Wal-Mart (I know, hold on) sells 4" for $25 a pair, 6.5's for $35 a pair, 6x9's for $35 a pair, and the 12's for $40 each. Wal-Mart also has Lightning Audio amps rated at 150watts rms x 2@4Ohms for $75, nice!

iirc civics have 6.5's. so if i were you i wouldnt even worry about the rear speakers, get a nice pair of comps up front, and a 4 channel amp to bring out the best in them. you can run a 2 channel as well, but i like using a 4 channel on comps cause there is more you can adjust.
