Question:
I have a 2nd. Generation Ipod Shuffle and was wondering if I can get something to listen to it in the Car.
Answers:
The first, and the best way, is to change your head unit with the one that's equipped with iPod control. You hook your iPod up with a data cable to the head unit, and you can control everything in your iPod from the head unit, and even with the remote. So you can focus your eyes on the road an not on your iPod smallish screen. Big company like Alpine, Pioneer, Sony, already have many type of this kind, but usually they're quite pricey, the head unit and the cable usually starts at $200 and up.

Second, cheaper alternative is to have a head unit with line in / aux in, these one is cheaper, you can get it with $100 or less, connect the iPod though a 3.5mm jack, like the one connecting your PC to its speakers.
Which is large one volt or one amp?
Third, and the cheapest option is to retain your existing head unit (assuming it has FM radio - ouch!) and buy a FM transmitter, usually you can get it for $10-20. Just connect it to the iPod where you usually plug the earphones.
Can you have 6x9's, subs and an amp?
The downside of the last two 'economic' options is that you still have to the iPod scroll controls and that small screen, and sometimes it can be a little distracting and very dangerous while you're driving. The FM transmitter also tend to degrade the sound quality.

I like the answer above me, but just a note about FM transmitters. I hear that the more you spend the more quality you get. I paid about $40 for the Belkin Tunecast and I got a pretty bad quality product. It was hard to find a good frequency to broadcast to (which will probably be a problem if you live in a metropolitan area), and when I did finally find a good one, I'd eventually hear static after riding a few blocks. There are more higher end ones, I've seen ones that go for $70-$80 but I haven't spent money on those. So yeah, I like the answer above me^, go with an iPod ready head unit, or simply one with an auxiliary input (go check, you may already have one). Or if you're like me and have a car with a cassette player, a cassette adapter will do the trick.
