Question:
I have a 2004 chevy impala, I have a jensen vm9511ts headunit, 2 factory 6x9's, a small amp, and the 2 front door speakers(don't know what they are). I got 2 MA audio 10" subs in a box in the trunk and this amp http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/shop/... to power the subs.
I can't figure out what it's called! Wiring question?
My problem is I'm getting too much bass, the headunit has a built in equalizer but i don't know what to set it on...
Answers:
Where can i find a wiring diagram for my car?
use the HPF(high pass filter) in the headunit. set it to 100Hz or 125Hz this will make it so all sounds above that frequency will be played through the door speakers. the LPF(low pass filter) is for the sub and it works just the same. set it to 80Hz or lower. the sub will play frequencies below that frequencyMy sub takes 500 Watts RMS @ 4 ohm, whats the ideal amp??
Oh C'mon... you can NEVER have too much bass!Stereo installation problems on 1997 Chev Blazer LS?
if the bass is giving you a headache just turn the bass down on you head unit, or turn the volume down.
Put the equalizer on normal or midway. It sounds like your AMP gain adjustment is all the way up which is bad. If you look on your AMP there is a small screw with the word Gain.. Turn that counterclock wise to decrease the gain. the sweet spot is half way or little less about 1/3 turn anything else beyond that makes it distort. And when that happens your AMP will clip and it can blow the speakers.
