Tricky Question.... It all depends on the features your looking for and mostly varies on opinion... While BOTH are good I usually go with Alpine.... But thats my preference.what is the best gps automotive system to buy? I need something portable not handheld.?
It depends on what your needs are. If you are looking for an iPod ready unit, Alpine is definitely the way to go. Alpine is the only unit with a direct link to the iPod, which delivers ultra fast loading. If you don't have an Ipod, choose Kenwood. I have found Kenwood units hit harder than other brands.alpine is the correct answer. better sound quality. Period.

Alpine by Far!I'll answer this question honestly...Pioneer's are prob. the best radio on the market for whatever you are looking for, i've had a pioneer radio of some sort for almost 6 years now and never had any problems....i know people that have had kenwood and alpines and have had to send them back to the company many times!
