Do I have to have my car on to activate my XM radio? I have a 2003 GMC Yukon XL?

I just activated my XM radio, that was integrated into my car. Do I have to have my car on to activate it, or when I turn it on in the morning, will I get XM radio?

Most likelyou would have to leave at least the key on and radio on. On stand alone reciever you have to leave it on at least 2-3 hrs
