Question:
I am fairly new to hooking up stereos and have been stressing over this for a few weeks now. Over the years I have acquired a nice little system from friends. I have all alpine type-r speakers with 6 1/2 in the front and 6x9 in the back. I also have 2 10" Alpine type-r subs. I currently have my subs and 6x9's hooked up to the amp(which my friend did). However, before I could hook up my second amp for all my speakers and then have the other one just for the subs it got too cold and I am not ready to freeze my butt off doing it. So when I use my stereo it shuts off my front speakers that are running off the head unit but play the 6x9's thru the amp. So I was just wondering do I have to split the remote wire to get them all to play or is this just a stupid thing to do and I should wait til it gets nice and I can hook up my second amp? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

How can I connect my aftermarket speakers to my 2000 Pontiac Firebird?
This is what I would do. Since you have a second amp waiting for your speakers (only your speakers and not your subwoofer right?) then just take the amp that you have in the car right now and use it for the Subwoofers. run your 6x9 and 6.25 from your head unit until you can get the other amp in. when it's warm enough (hell, i work on my car when it 10 degrees out) then hook up your four speakers to the second amp since you're going to be running two separate amps anyway.Where can I get an MECP patch?
2 points & yes.Just hooked up JL 500/1 to 12w6v2... somethings wrong?
You have to split the speakers if necessary to balance the output level of your amp you will have to trouble shoot your stereo and the amp to observe the output capacity of stereo and the amp, you will hear the front and the back speakers working in balance, and the output is more incredible'',..More Questions & Answers ...
