Question:
i got a kick 1000.1 amp powering 2 L5 S12 kicker subs. what r some good setting i should put on the amp??
Answers:
is it alright to hook up 2 amps to a battery..what is good or bad about it?
Here is the rule of thumb:First, you have to make sure your existing system (head unit, amp, front speakers, etc) sound good and satisfy you (except for the bass, of course). If the front speakers still sound harsh, and unbalanced, even the most expensive subs in the world won't make your car sound better.
Second, after you get the sound you want from the front speakers, now it's time to give your system the extra thump.
Play the music you like and know well, at the volume level you'll be usually use the system. First, turn only the front speakers (and the rear speakers too if you have any). Analyze the sound. The subs should take over to produce the bass where the small speakers give up. Now set crossover, usually between 80-100 Hz, but it depends om your speakers, experiment. Then slowly turn the sub's power up until the bass sound balanced with the rest. If somehow, after you turn on the sub the bass sound muddy or missing the important chest thumping impact, maybe your subs is out-of-phase, your 1000.1 amp should have a little phase switch, use it.
Third, after all the speakers and subs sound balanced, now use the EQ (if you have any) to fine tune the sound according to your preference and the music you play.
About how much does it cost to install a car audio system (subwoofers and amp) at bestbuy?
11dynamat....is it the best brand or is it just the most popular?
it depends on the sound you want, the car its in, the head you have, does the head have a crossover, there is alot of different combinations that can change the settings. turn the radio on, and sit there and fiddle with it. change the settings a little at a time until you find or hear what you want.More Questions & Answers ...
