Question:
so i know quite a bit of stereo instalation but i have never gotten to deep into it. my question is how does bridging an amp affect performance and how do you calculate the ohms you are running when you have multiple sub woofers? whats the best place to answer these questions? how are ohms affected by running multiple subs? and i dont want to hear about looking it up on crutchfield.

Does anyone own a car stereo with built in memory?
Ohm's is a measurement of resistance. Think of kinking a garden hose, the more you kink, the more resistance.I have a 2000 Subaru Legacy GT and need audio help...?
In electronics, the less resistance across a power source, the more it's a dead short. So it's much better to run an amp at a higher resistance than a lower one, contrary to popular belief.
Where do high-pass capacitors and low pass inductors go between the amp and subwoofer?
You do get more power from lower ohms, but at a price...
JVC car CD player skips when bass is turned up.?
This will:
1) cause the amp to run hotter
2) increase the THD (total harmonic distortion)
3) reduce the life of the amp because of excessive heat
Will this amp work if i am only going to play it at 100 watts rms x4 channels?
As watts are always added when subs are wired together, the amp needs to be twice the watts RMS.

The resulting ohms depends on the wiring method used.

Where Z = the total impedance (ohms) and sub# is each sub (or each coil in a multi-coiled sub):
I am looking for a vocal and bass amp. What should i search for?
Z = 1 / (1/sub1 + 1/sub2 + 1/sub3 + .) for as many you have
The quick and dirty is IF both subs are equal in ohms AND wired in parallel, the ohms will be cut in half.
My sub box came with long cardboard cylinders for the ports do i need to keep those in??
You can mix these two methods of calculations for different configurations.
In a amplfier how does the amp no how much power whats needed for a speaker?
You can wire as many subs to a channel of an amp as you want AS LONG AS you don't fall below the recommended impedance load of the amp per channel.

When Buying A Car CD Player.. (UK)?
the lower the ohms is on a speaker the deeper the bass will be on that speakerFront or Rear firing Subs in trunk.....BEST S.Q??
Ohms is the resistance of the speaker's voice coils. Learn ohm's law to find multiple speakers. Two 4 ohm speakers in parallel equals 2 ohms. Two 4 ohm speakers in series equals 8 ohms. Bridging two amps delivers the power of both amps. Ie; two 100 watt amps bridged will theoretically supply 200 watts.Where should I go to get new car speakers (purchased and installed)?
For pete's sake, resistance will NOT determine how deep the bass is.
ohm is the resistence to current. 8 ohm will draw alf the current from the amp. compared with 4 ohm, but 8 ohm will sound half the lod of a 4 ohm. you can find (but rare)2 ohm speakers. now by puting two 4 ohms in serial, you drow 8 ohm's, in paralel, 2 ohm's. How will afect your amp deppends in his specifications.
you can try car stereo review, or search for "car stereo magazines"
I need a new head unit, any ideas?
the lower the ohms the more distortion and the amp will most likely get stressed and fri-go with 4 ohmMore Questions & Answers ...
