My cd player is hooked up and all the wires are connected the speakers dont work tohugh?

they only speakers in my truck are 10 inch subwoofers and the speakers wires are hooked up like they should be but the truck battery is almost dead so could that affect it that it dont have enough power to push the speakers,? my truck is a 88 chevy silverado
