Question:
I have two 8" JL Audio 8W0-8 subwoofers with parallel wiring connected to one channel on a two channel Directed Electronics XA-3002 amplifier. The subs have a Thermal Power Handling of 75 watts each and are rated at 8 ohms, but my sub has a continuous power of 50W per channel at 4 ohms. With parallel wiring, if I am correct, the subs run at 4 ohms, and the continuous power is at 25 watts per sub. Will the subs sound better if I get an amplifier with a higher RMS power, such as maybe 100 to 200 watts per channel, so that each sub gets around 50 to 100 watts of continuous power? I plan on leaving the two subs on one channel, and getting two more subs for the other channel later on.

8" subs ought to be in rather deep enclosures, and as air tight as possable the better and air sealed as best as possable, all that additional audio power may not be needed, al though add more if you wish.In car radio cassette Player.
