Why did my car amplifier just stop working?

Question:
Its been working fine ever since i installed it. But now when im playing a CD it takes about 2 minutes for the amp to kick in. And sometimes it just turns off. It doesnt go into protection mode or anything its just like it isent on. My front speaker which are not connected to the amp stay on. Please can anyone help its really pissing me off.
