I've herd a 15" orion before but i didnt hear it loud enough to know how good it really was. but at low volume it didnt sound that bad.

stick with JL's. I'm old now, and I can afford anything - JL's sound the best and are the most reliable. You don't want sloppy 12's or even 10's - get some JL 6's in a nice box, and you'll be so happy. They hit harder and sound so clean.
