Question:
Suppose I have a subwoofer with a frequency response of 30-150Hz with a -3dB/octave roll off, no cross over and a test track with tones in the 10-20Hz range- will i hear anything from the sub? How much at 20Hz versus 10Hz?

What is better a 5 farad capacitor or a Batcap?
Since most audio signals don't go below 20 Hz (since most humans can't hear below this), you will just see the sub move in and out.Is this DubMagAudio and Sony Xplod setup good for my car.Continued below?
I'm not sure why you'd want to test below the specs of the sub when it won't be of any use.

15 inch Subwoofer enclosure Help.?
I'm fully aware how roll-off works as I've made numerous sub-sonic filters. Some of my better ones are 4th order Linkwitz-Riley filters with 24dB/octave rolloff with input and output buffers.
How fast do car subwoofers move?
I just don't see the point in your question if you ultimately asked if you could hear anything.
With frequncies below 20Hz, the only thing you will hear is the flutter of the sub which isn't really a musical tone. Of course the "audible level" will decrease because of the roll off, but what practical purpose does this serve especilaly below the hearing range of frequencies?
Being an audiophile, I find ANYTHING below the audible frequency a waste of musical power.

If you're just asking questions to trick people to make yourself feel superior, I feel sorry for you.
You actually won't "hear" anything at that frequency, but you may feel it. Your sub will be working hard to reproduce it though. Just because it has an indicated frequency response doesn't mean it can't play anything lower or higher, it simply means that is its operating range. At less than 20Hz, the speaker's movements are beyond its capabilities to control, so it is turning a lot of energy into heat and will more than likely damage the speaker...depending at how much power is being thrown at it.
