Just bought Alpine 9853 CD player...need some help.?

Question:
The unit is working fine, however I can't seem to store any presets on it. I've gone throught what it says on the manual -
Find your chosen station>
Function button >
Slide finger to desired preset and hold for atleast 2 seconds.

How come the track listings of a cdr dont display on my car cd player?

I've done that many times and it doesn't seem to work. I've tried saving each station on different presets, but nope! It won't work. So if someone can tell me where I'm going wrong or something, that'd be great.

Does anyone have any documents about amplifiers and how to fix them?

And also...where could I get hold of a remote for the 9853, how much are they (£) and what's the model no/name thanks.

First off, is it storing the preset, but when you turn off the car-- it's no longer there? Check your 12v+ wire (yellow) and make sure it's getting a constant 12v even with the car off. What kind of car is it by the way? Sounds to me like it might be wiring. As far as I know about the 9853, it's not compatible for a remote. I have a good 12 Alpine remotes and I'd send you one if you want one, but doubt it would work. I don't think the 9853 is iR ready. Hope this helps you out a little.
