Your idea seems ok to me but I think you would do better with something else. How can you compete with superstores & their buying power as well as the fact that lots of places do free installation if you buy your car audio from them? If you had a connection to someone in a place like Japan you might be able to find those elusive wholesalers. Isn't there something more lucrative you could do with a degree in mobil electronics? It sounds like it to me but I don't know a thing about mobile electronics. I am an audiophile though & have the ability to install any audio componets in my home or vehicle. I just thought I would offer you something to think about before you start this type of business. Nowadays can the little guy even compete? Whatever you do I wish you the best & encourage you to do some hard research if you have not already. Good luck & never give up on your dreams.Whats my best option for my bridged 2 channel amplifier ? Please Help !?
Most audio companies...home and car alike sell through Manufacturers Representatives. These are independent companies that provide selling assitance to local shops and handle the orders for the manufacturer. They make a commission off of the sales but the billing is usually handled from the company directly. Most of these audio companies don't have the resources to place a sales force all across the country. Some of the larger companies do have some sort of sales force but they handle large "Big Box" retailers. Your best bet would be go directly to the companies you want to handle and ask who is their sales rep for the region you are in. You will eventually find a network of reps that handle the products you need. They will need to visit your shop, check credit and possibly require you to get additional training for some of the products you wish to sell. Good luck.More Questions & Answers ...
