I have a 2001 alero with 4x6" front speakers. I bought component speakers which are the Clarion SRS1326 and they are 5-1/4". How does that work? An installer said he could do it, i just want to know if its even that hard

It doesn't look like 5.25" speakers will fit without trimming the door. (which isn't hard)

Well anything can be done but I would'nt let someone do that to my car. Things would have to be cut and it would just be way more work then it would be worth. The best thing to do is buy a 4x6 plate speaker with a 4in round driver and a tweeter. its really simple all it is is a template(usually plastic) that is fitted for a 4x6 hole but has a cut out for your 5-1/4 driver and the tweeter its pretty simple but if he isn't charging much let him do it then it SHOULD be under warranty hope my answer helpscan I take out my car radio by myself?
Not that hard just a few holes to drill and some extra wiring. To get the full sound quality out them get an amp. Componets are made to handle some juice.can you run 3 dvc speakers,two 4ohm series & one 2ohm series to 2 ohms?
