I have a 1995 Taurus that has Premium Sound that sounds good but it distorts when I turn it up... I just want more bass than I currently have. What should I do? I have a Sony Xplode stereo but like I said, still stock speakers. I want something cheap, easy to install, and quality. Where should I go to get this? Please help!

as for bass it depends on what your looking for. do you want something small and basic just to give you better lows or are you looking for something a little bigger.

you need a crossover (seperates the bass from the mids and highs), some amps have them built in. Get 1 12" inch JL Audio audio with a clean amp. Buy a premade box for 1 12". But seal the joints with silicone yourself. This should get you to a starting point then you can add on later.Can u use 2 6 by 9's and 2 12's on the same amp?
I believe your Sony XPlod Headunit gives out 52W per channel. That should be enough to drive 2 way seperates. You can replace the stock speakers with 2-way seperates up to 220W. Sony XPlod Headunits are a little picky on speakers. So its best to stick with the same brand.Do u think i will need a high output alternator in my sentra 94?
honestly a sub is not a bad method obviously, but cost can grow rapidly, and space may be a issue. I think that car has 6x9's in the back, those can produce a fair omount of bass if you add a amp. I would consider a 2 ch amp in back with new speakers pick a amp with a "bass boost" or secondly you could get a selp powered amp, simple and to the point. look for one with at least 100 watts power.
