I recently purchased a cd player and need help with wiring. I recieved a wiring harness for my pioneer cd player and i bought one to adapt to my car (99 chevy tracker). I soldered all the wires together (color oriented) and the harness that came with my cd player had a terminal on the end to ground it. I already have one on the 99 tracker harness, so i cut the terminal off and soldered the 2 together. Is that going to be alright? As for the remaining wires, can i take electrical tape and tape them so they dont short? and for the wires i didnt use? Also, there is a 10A fuse on my cd player. What do i do with that? do i have to connect that to the fuse box or not?

As far as the ground. it should be ok... its better to mount it on the body/frame but I have had to do it before with a unibody and it works alright. As far as the fuse... thats for the deck itself. leave that alone. And yes tape or cap up all the wires so they don't short. Other than that it sounds like your set to go

i cut the fuses behind the radio and just keep solering the wires to the plug there is a fuse on the red and yellow
there are fuses on the fuse box of the vehicle and it is a paind in the &$% to remove the radio just to change a fuse and makes no sese to have 2 fuses in the same line
