I was wondering because I need to take out the factory speakers and buy some new ones. I just dont know what size to buy. I dont know if they are 4'' or what. I was going to put 6x9's in my truck but the speakers look way smaller than 6x9. If you can help me out that would be awsome. Thank ya..

Hello. the 89 Silverado has 2 4x6 speakers in the dash and 2 4x6 speakers in the rear. There is a down side to replacing these speakers. In the front dash, you cant put a real "beefy" speaker with a large magnet or a large tweeter because the magnet will hit the a/c duct work and the speaker will not go down into the dash far enough to mount it. If it has a high mounted tweeter, then it will hit the cover and it will not snap back down. In the rear panels, you will have to remove the whole rear to get to the speakers (unless it is a w/t silverado). It is a real job to replace them. Same deal with the front speakers. A large magnet structure will hit the side cab of the truck and the high mount tweeter will hit the panel. Kenwood makes some 4x6 speakers that fit really well and sound good. We sell them in our shop for about 80 bucks a pair. Hope this helped! Good luck and live loud!!If you put a bigger fuse in your amp will you get more power?
