Answers:
What would you recommend getting a 12" L7 or a 12" CVX?
no.I HAVE A1,000 WATT AMP AND A L5 with no crossover and they sound great. You will be happy with the results of a crossover. So, yes get a crossover. : )
Does any one know that factory wiring of a 78 mercury cougar?
If you are asking if you need a crossover for the subs to keep out the uper frequencies, that is entirely up to you. Most amps have built in hi and lo pass crossovers, so check out the amp to see if it has that option. If it doesn't and you don't run a crossover, you will get the full range of sound out of the sub, and subwoofers are not designed to accurately duplicate sounds other than low frequencies, so most of the other sound will be distorted if not blocked by a crossover. How do you fix a Rockford Fosgate amp when the thermal light comes on?
The large speakers require lots of power to get them to operate, the small speakers require very little. The cross over makes sure high (low powered) frequencies go to the small speaker and low (more powered) frequencies go to the large speakers. You can get away without the xover if you keep the volume down or only have one size of speaker or only play one frequency on your music system. The choice is yours. How do you remove the door panel on A 98 sunfire to install new speakers.?
...Typically the amp already has a crossover built in to it. but if i does not have a crossover built in it will make such a diffrence. it will let your subs hit the low sounds that most of the time you would even know the song had that low of a sound.More Questions & Answers ...
