Can I change the stereo from this old car?
It would all depend on the RMS of the amp and the ohms of the subs. Wiring wise you would need 8ohm subs or DVC 4ohm/coil subs to get the most out of that amp (bridged - 4ohm load). Now if the 1000 is RMS and you have one of the above subs, then it will wire up right, but it is entirely to much power for the subs. It'll run but the subs might not last long. Now if thats 1000 peak, then the RMS is probably around 500 (bridged), and with one of the subs above it is a perfect match. However, I can't be positive on this unless you email me that model of the amp and the model of the subs, then I can let you know for sure.
