IF I BOUGHT AN Alpine: CVA-1014RB Motorised monitor, WOULD I HAVE TO BUY ANY EXTRAS TO MAKE IT WORK?
Chrysler vehicles are often equipped with an Infinity sound system, which uses factory amplifiers. On that vehicle, the amplifiers would be attached to the backs of the factory speakers. To install a new head unit, you need to turn on the factory amplifiers just like you'd turn on an after-market amp if you were installing one.Looking for opinions on my Jeep audio system, improvement ideas?
When you buy a Chrysler wire harness adapter, the wire that connects to the factory amp turn-on is usually blue. You need to connect this wire to the blue/white wire from your head unit; if your head unit doesn't have a blue/white, then use blue. The turn-on wire is usually green/red or light green in the factory harness; it's at one end of the black 7-pin plug.
it probably has a factory amplifier, and you didnt hook up the trigger wire in the harness. they are usually blue. the trigger wire tells the factory amp to turn on and push sound to the speakers.
did the factory system have an amp under the passenger seat? i bet it did, i dont really know what else it could be, maybe the mute is on, i know it sounds stupid but i had that happen to me once, i nearly bought a new 4 channel amp cuz i thought it wasn workin, sat on my head unit remote again and it blasted me into my seat lol
turn on the factory amplifier if you use a wiring plug
send 12 volts to the blue wire that will turn on the amplifier
