I have a 2002 ford taurus 4DR SEDAN and I want to get a new radio, speakers, and subwoofer.?

Question:
I'm having trouble because the cd decks dont match my vechile at all. You see the a/c and heat and radio is on one face plate. so if thats move the others have to get new face plates.. Hondas are easy cars to do that with you can almost do it ur self but with mine its very hard. Is There Anyplace I Can Go That Can Install This At A Reasonable Price.

It's actually not too tough IF your factory radio/climate control module uses rotary knobs for the climate controls (as opposed to pushbuttons). If you have the knobs, then there's a special kit made for your vehicle that replaces the entire control assembly. The climate control switches will be removed from the old panel and mounted on the new kit.

The other tricky parts about the wiring are that the factory amp and tuner pack are actually in the trunk, so wiring has to be run from the front to the trunk to install a new head unit. Also, it's not very easy to get a power wire through the firewall to the battery on these vehicles. For this reason, it might be a good idea to let a professional do it if you aren't very experienced. However, it shouldn't cost a whole lot more than any other car, and just about any car audio store should be able to handle it with no problems.

Ford cars are not too hard to work with stereo-wise, and if you get the proper adapter, you can use the existing wiring harness without much modification (just to attach the head unit to the part of the adapter that plugs into the existing harness). Some radios won't fit some cars, but most are pretty universal and some can even be used with the existing steering wheel controls for the stock stereo.
