Question:
I recently installed:
2 Pioneer 12" TSW301R (150W RMS)
Pioneer DEH-1900MP headunit
Sony XM2002GTR Amp (200W RMSx2)
What do you need to hook up a ipod to a gm 2007 stereo that has a auxiliary output?
I have my amp gain at about 75% because thats where I felt it soudned good at my normal listening level. But say i want to show off to my friends, how do I know how loud I can put my bass before I end up damaging something? I KNOW that this isnt even close to an SPL system, it what I could do with $400. And I like it, thats what matters.

What are some good Car Audio Schools in Southern California?or close?
If I were you i keep the volume that way maybe to 80% beacuse you amp's power is greater than your max power inputs of your subs. They probably will sound fine, but maybe in a few months of punching bass will make then to blow. Tha'ts up to you. Best thing to do upgrade your subs. How is it possible to wire a car amplifier up to in doors socket?
The purpose of the gain is to match the signal volts RMS from the head unit (or source) to the amplifier input, nothing else. Setting it incorrectly can cause permannt damage to your subs.Does alpine sell a 10 inch sub bass package?
Here is a guide to help you set the gain correctly:

You'll need Microsoft Excel, a multi-meter (AC volt meter) and a way to burn an audio CD from an MP3.

Amp to power 2, 12" idmax. good overall sq and spl?
when u want to show off at comp, just turn ur gain all the way up, tweak ur head unit, then after the comp, reset everything back to where u had itI highly suggest going with Sparky3489's answer. I had an MB Quart RAA1000 (1000watt X 1 @ 1Ohm) and I blew that amplifier due to improper gain settings. I set that amp where i thought it sounded good.when I replaced that amp with my new 1200 X1 @ 1Ohm I used sparkys spread sheet and I have absolutely no issues with better quality sound. I did however visit the local car stereo shop and verified everything sparky said with out leading to the answer. He was 100% correct. (thank-you sparky for the spreadsheet and saving my new amplifier). Also JL Audio supports sparky.
If you match your head units preamp out to your amplifier input gain you will get the best sound and output you can get with that amp. if that isn't enough the only correct answer is to change amps or subs! over driving the amp by turning the gains up will only clip the amp causing distorted sound (not always noticeable) that will lead to amp or sub damage!
Is it possible to adapt a car outlet adapter to work on a regular wall plug-in?
Set the gain properly and don't turn it up past the volume level you set on the head unit...Although if you want to show off, find a song with lots of bass near the tuning frequency of your box. You will be able to feed it more power without worrying about damaging the drivers. Or even better: determine the resonant frequency of your car and build a box with the same tuning frequency. Test tones are the best : )
