Disconnect the speaker wires from the amp. If the amp continues to get hot, it's bad. If it doesn't keep shutting off, than place a 9V battery on the speaker wire. If the woofer(s) move, than your amp's bad. If they don't, than the woofer(s) are bad, or there's a short circuit in the wire. Check on the amp where the power wire and the ground wire go and make sure that them are not touching that has happened to me before where they were touching and it would shut the amp off right away. I have never heard of subs being bad before and causeing the amp to shut off its something to do with the the Fuse or the where the wires hook onto the amp and if an amp gets to hot it will also shut down to protect itMore Questions & Answers ...
