My amp is getting too hot, wondering what i could do to remedy this problem?

Question:
I have a PCA2x760 Soundstream amp running a 12" Reference series sub, in a ported box. I have it turned up 3/4, with a bass booster/gain control at 75%, its on top of the box, and has plenty of room to get air, but after listening to it for approx. 15-20 minutes, it gets so hot you can smell it, and it will burn your hand if you touch it, the fins especially. Wonder if i need a bigger amp, its 760 watts x 1, and the sub handles 600 watts, any help would be greatly appreciated.

New sound system?

There may be 2 reasons. First the amp in installed in an area of low ventilation causing it to overheat. The second reason may be that the amp is working all the time at full capacity because of the speakers it has. Solutions: fix the ventilation problem and have more air delivered to your amp. Get a more powerful amp.

Kenwood or Goodmans Cd. Player ??
