How much amp wattage do I need?

Question:
I just bought (2) 12" kicker comp vr's that come to 800 watts RMS combined and 2 ohms each. What kind of amp am I going to need to push these? In the future I might want to add 4 car speakers to the amp, only if my current ones blow. Also, what kind of box am I going to need?

You'll need an amp that puts out about 800watts rms. If you get a 2channel: 400wrms x 2@2Ohms. Mono (1ch): 800wrms x 1@1Ohm.
Push about 400wrms to each an they'll scream!
As for box. SPL- ported, SQ- sealed.
Kicker sells them in ported boxes, so... maybe that means something.
