Question:
I have an 88' s10. Theres really no room for subs or anything. I currently have a CD player hooked up to two 6.5 inch speakers...which aren't even good quality. I really don't want to put anything in the bed because of theft problems. So I need ideas on how to make my system better. Oh, and it's not an extended cab.

Would this amp work for these subwoofers?
You could buy two 8" truck boxes, these should fit behind the seat nicely, and two 8" subs from Wal-Mart or a car stereo store. Wal-Mart now has name brand Sony and Pioneer subs for around $50-$60 apiece. You may even be able to fit 10"'s behind the seat, just test fit the boxes and see what works for you.Toyota radio wiring help with the colors?
As for an amp, I really suggest you don't go too cheap here. I would buy a name brand like Sony or Punch (Rockford Fosgate) with a cross-over and a per channel watt rating of at least 35X2. This is all the wattage you will need for this set-up, do not go buy some B.S. amp that says its 200X2 for $50 bucks because it will not sound good. Save up your money and go with the name brand here.
What does an "Amplifier" do to your car speakers?
The 8" or 10" subs will give you some nice bottom end and your 6 1/2's plus two more full range speakers (4", "5X7", or 5 1/4") run off of your CD player should give you a nice little system.
How do I fix my blown subwoofer?
If you decide that the 8" or 10" truck boxes are just not going to fit behind your seat, I would buy two pioneer 6"X9"s and run them off of your CD player with your 6 1/2"s.

How many watts must a subwoofer have to shake your neighborhood?
that would let you get a sub in, as for speakers you have 6.5s so you can find a pretty good set. go with a 6.5" component set. EDIT: also if your good with woodwork you could build your own shallowmount box. just use some partial specs of premade boxes to give u depth ideas. u can make it the length of ur back wall and fit 2 10s or 12s and 2 6x9s
6.5 are great size speakers, you should get 6.5 component speakers(cost a bit more but very good quality) and well as for subs, if you want alot of bass go for 2 slimlime pioneer subs, as for an amp that is totally up to you. Goodluck
RCA pin snapped off in socket?
kicker makes a sub box that only 6" deep http://www.crutchfield.com/s-btsvh0jrsp1...its the sub in a premade box...simple simple...
i'd use one of those with a 4 channel alpine mrp F250amp (will fit under seat nicely). use two channels for the front speakers (i'd get component) and 2 for the sub (but get a 4 ohm version). just use the deck for the back for a little filler. overal the system would cost about 800 bucks and sound pretty damn good in such a small place.
