It is usually a good idea to run signal wires (Red and White) down one side, like the passenger side and to run power down the opposite side, drivers to reduce interference.

I have a two channel amp and want to power one dual voice coil sub. how do I run that at 4 ohms?

Nope, it doesn't matter at all. I spliced wires and put other wires together to make my own, and they worked fine. Of course, I don't use them anymore, because I didn't have any electrical tape and wires were showing, so I decided just to buy the real deal.
