I have a 2 channel 500 watt amp,i fell i need ore power?

i need more power for my car sound right now i have a two channel 500 watt amp,i was told that a four channel amp would be good,i was gonna buy a 600 watt 4 channell sony amp for my 10'' mtx subwoofer,what would be a good choice to get better hard knocking bass sound

You only have one sub, so get a 500 watt class D monoblock amp, like the one I've got from Memphis. 4 channel amps are basically to run your regular speakers, 4 channels, 4 speakers, understand? Also, it would help if your sub and amp were 2 ohms, as this hits way harder than a 4-ohm setup.

This is true and false. You do get more power running an amp at a lower impedance (ohm) but at a price as the amp will run hotter and won't last as long.

You're far better off to go with a higher powered system ran at 4 ohms rather than making a system push more power by more of a load (2 ohms).

Notice system 2 has a lower THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) than system 1 both at 800 watts ouptut. The higher the THD, the more the sound quality suffers.

How would i wire this amp to subs?

If your MTX 10" is dual 4Ohm voice coils then a 4ch. will work. Bridge 2 channel's to each voice coil.
If it is single 4Ohm, with a 4 channel you'd only be able to use 2 channels (bridged to the single 4Ohm VC).
If it is a dual 2Ohm you still can only use 2 channels (1 2Ohm VC to each side).
Other than that, you can't use 1 sub on a 4ch. amp.
