Would I have to re-wire the speakers after unpluging the stock amp in a 94 Chrysler New Yorker?

Question:
I am installing a stereo and i found that there was a stock amp in the back left of the trunk, so now i am wondering if i have to re-wire the speakers myself or is there another way around it?

cadillac wire harness diagrams?

You may not have to, but you definitely would want to. You could examine the wires coming OUT of the stock amp and compare them to each individual speaker to figure out which one goes where and then splice your wires from your new amp to the appropriate channel (keeping in mind proper polarity). The wires should be uniquely color coded. If they are not, tough luck. Sorry. You will definitely be better off if you just route new speaker wire from your new head unit to each speaker, that way you will be sure of all correct channels AND higher quality speaker wire as well, especially if you have aftermarket speakers which handle more power than your stocks which probably have a measly 24ga wire going to them. Use a coat hanger to fish the wires through those door wire boots, it's a LOT easier!
