I don't look at it like 'what is the best'. I like to look at it as 'what best fits my budget/ preferances'.
Now, if JL is in your budget, go for it. But for budget SQ i'd recommend TC Sounds. For gut-busting SPL, Kicker.
TC Sounds has a very nice -budget friendly- line up. They have a 200wrms 12" for $105. Very high quality. Kicker is held accountable (like it's a bad thing) for 75% of ALL world SPL competitions.
