Question:
When the car is turned off for awhile (overnight), all the memory is cleared from the radio (presents, clock, etc.). If I just turn the car off and then back on, the memory's fine. Some CDs do not work well either, almost like it's having a hard time reading it, even though the CD is fine.
Does anybody use cb radio in the uk anymore?
Any ideas on things that may be wrong?

From what I understand, the "memory wire" is yellow. It is plugged into a open spot in the fuse box. The radio is a Sony CDX-L550X and it's in a 91 Jeep Wrangler.

The yellow wire needs to be connected to a circuit which never shuts off. If your memory is only cleared after elapsed time, the open spot in the fuse box maybe meant for a "delayed" power supply, such as power windows. You should not just stuff the wire into the fuse block. This is a bad way of doing it, potential fire hazard. Try to find the constant power wire in the radio wire harness. It will always be supplied with power wether or not the key is on. It should be pink or pink w/ white stripe. If it is not available, you could tap onto the cigarette lighter.What is the best brand for subwoofers that are 12''?

Also the reason it takes a while for it to clear is that the spot you have it hooked up to may be ran through a capacitor, a capacitor hold a small amount of voltage, so that momentarily the pre-sets will stay on your radio, but after the capacitor runs out of juice the memory stops.More Questions & Answers ...
