I need to get the serial # off of my radio, I was instructed to just pull it out...how the heck do I do that w/out damaging anything. I just tried and there's no where to 'pull'... :-(

OKThe plastic around the radio pocket box ac controls clock is remove this is one piece,
you start from the bottom and pull out and them up there are clips holding the plastic
sometime not always, there are 2 screws at the bottom if not just pull it out there is more clips behind the clock also the ac vents come out
if you replace the radio the clock will still work don't let the installer tell you that you are going to lose the clock it only needs power

You could use four small screwdrivers, push in and up on all four at the same time, and pull forward, the radio should pop out.Many cars are different. Some you have to pull apart the entire dash, some it's just a bracket on the front. It really depends on the year/make/model. It's never just "pull".
