To add an amplifier to a factory stereo, you need to either purchase something called a line-out converter, or use an amplifier with high-level inputs. In either case, you'll be tapping into the factory speaker wires to provide an input signal for the amplifier. Despite what some will tell you, a good quality line-out converter should give you comparable sound quality to a head unit with RCA outputs; especially if you're using it with a subwoofer amp. Here's a link to a very good line-out converter for a good price (scroll down to NE-7V)
