in the process of getting all the gear for my 06' wrangler together. I am pretty picky about sound quality, yet, on a buget. so far i have purchaced for $158 a new alpine Alpine MRD-605 mono amp (400Watts RMS @ 4 ohm, 600 @ 2) also i have purchaced used ( $65 ) a mtx thunder 404 4 channel amp (50 X 4 RMS) 4 speakers i have 4x6 JBL gto series up front and the 5 1/4's in the roll bar.
Now what i am looking at to finish it off is a pre loaded sub box from kicker ( Kicker TCVT122 ) to put behind the rear seat (400RMS sealed enclosure). I am considering just running the speakers to the high level input on the mtx amp, then it has a pre out that i could run rca over to the alpine amp. i am also considering getting a adapter plate and just putting 5 1/4's up in the dash (but i got to cut part of the steel behind the dash) the crossover would be set at 85HZ LP for sub and HP for dash and roll bar.

Bud, You have the wrong vehicle for sound quality!~!~!First, I would re-think the speakers in the dash. They are in just an awful location unless your ears are attached to your knees. I would try to build a kick panel enclosures for your 5.25 coax. Not sure if there are pre-fab kicks for the Jeeps? If you must mount them in the dash, make sure you install some kind of backing/enclosure on the rear of the 5.25s. Otherwise they will just sound like tin cans because the rear of the speaker is sharing the same air space with the front. This is called cancellation.

IMO, if you have a good front soundstage, there is no need for rear speakers. But, to each his own.

You might also consider making a sub enclosure yourself. It would be cheaper, and sound the same or better. The money you save by building an enclosure could get you a better sub/s.
Always remember this for sound quality; The quality of the products and installation will always make or break your system, not the quantity of product or money you put into it.
rick you know that sucks about jamaica laws. to answer your question have you considering maybe getting a new paint job or design on your jeep. it seems like you have added alot of new cool things to your jeep
