Can i use a car amp with regular speakers?

home speakers are usually 8 or 6 ohm speakers and car subs are 2 and 4 ohm and on some occasions 6 ohm.in car audio the lower the ohm load the more power an amp will put out so you wire them up to get the different ohm loads and some car subs are dual voice coil too thats why they are wired different than your house speakers

Left Speaker Distorts, but right speaker doesn't?

Wiring car audio speakers in different ways will create different ohm loads. Look and see what the amp works best at and wire accordingly. As already stated some speakers have 2 voice coils (which makes it appear to be 2 speakers to the amp) or you can wire up pairs of speakers.
