pounding. I do listen to a little rap and a variety of other music also. But I don't care about having speakers that everyone outside my car can hear. I just love the feel of the pounding bass in the car. Also, what set up would you recommend. Free air, sealed, ported, isobaric, band pass, aperiodic? Thanks for your help
Is There a car cd player that can use a zune?
The best subs I know of for rock guys are JL Audio and Memphis. You want a sealed enclosure. Ported and bandpass boxes give you more boom because they allow the sub to move more freely. But if you like rock, then you want your subs to respond quicker for all those double bass beats! I don't know what your budget is, but if you can swing it then I'd suggest going with 2 or three JL Audio 10W6 version 2's. These subs are pricey but I absolutely gaurantee that you will be thrilled with the impact and speed response. JL has won just about every major car stereo award there is and you'll see why. Also, I'm not very familiar with Memphis, but I have heard several of their subs at competitions and they really give JL a run for their money. Either manufacturer has some cheaper subs that will also sound good, just not quite as good as the W6's. Just make sure you stick with sealed boxes...you'll be much happier given your tastes.
ten inches in diameter
Car CD player will not play, but tones sound. Replacement will not power on? WTF?
First off, go with a sealed enclosure, it will allow for a better overall bass response and give you that tight kick you need for rock. Normally, I would recommend two good 10in subs in a sealed enslosure if all you listened to was rock, but seeing how you also listen to some rap, you may consider two 12s. Either way you shouldn't be disappointed, as long as you get good subs, a good amp, and match the enclosure up with the subs. Email me if you have any questions, or would like some ideas as far as brands, models, etc. Hope this helps.
How Do You Remove A Stuck Cd From Car Radio?
I would go with a single JL 12inch sub in a sealed enclosure. I have one 12w6v2 and it puts out more clean power than most dual 12inch setups I have seen.
My friends say that if you install subs and an amp in your car, your alternator will die. Is that true?
Also get the best amp you can afford, it is a good rule of thumb to at least match the RMS value of the Amp to the Sub and it is better to err in the direction of a more powerful amp. This way you will use less gain and therefore hear less distortion.(As a bonus, your amp will run cooler and last longer!)
what does te iTrip do??
Decent brands for amps include Soundstream, ADS, JL Audio, etc.
sub-woofer goes nuts when i turn off my head unit?
Also do yourself a favor and install your new amp with a stiffening capacitor, at least 1 farad in size. It will likely eliminate any headlight dimming or alternator drag.
i need to remove the stereo out of my citroen saxo(2003)?
Will I need an adapter for my front speakers to fit into place in my car?
Does anyone know what size are the factory (front and rear)speakers in kia optima 2004?
I would definately say that a single 12" subwoofer is good enough for what you want. I would also recommend a ported enclosure. Yes, a sealed enclosure would have tighter bass, but a well made ported enclosure is right up with there as far as sound quality goes. By well made, I don't mean a pre-fabricated box for any general 12" woofer. Get a box specially made for the type of sub you have and for the car it will be in. I would recommend an Alpine Type-R sub. In the right enclosure design and with enough power, it can get extremely loud, yet they also have very good sound quality. You can safely give a 12" Type-R sub 1000w all day long without fear of damage, contrary to what the specs sheet says. What happens in the real world isnt always the same as what happens down on paper.
watt is best amp for 2 1100 watt rms each adiobahn 12's?
you need a 12". not just any 12, but a Boston Acoustic G5 DVC. one should do the trick. in a 1.0 cubic ft box sealed. very accurate, very deep, very clear and clean. its the best sounding sub i have ever heard. i got to hear it next to a JL 12w6, in a box not custom made for it, and it sounded a lot better thent he 12w6. also make sure you put a pound of pollyfill in the box. other then being about the best sounding sub on the market, andther great thing is its only 450 watts rms. which means you dont need a huge expensive amp to power it. dont buy anything without checking out this woofer.
I have an offer for a dual subwoofer set with 2 12" woofers single coil 1100 watts..is tht good?
hope it helps.

How to hook 2 CVR's 4 ohms to a ZX750.1??
Agreed. Except the JL part. There are way better woofers out there. It's just that JL is a huge name now-a-days so everybody thinks it is the $#!*.
I need Car Subs?
BUT DON'T GET SO MANY SUBS. 2 at the most. WHAT KIND OF CAR DO YOU DRIVE? You should definitely put your sub(s) in a sealed enclosure. You will feel and hear the perfect bass for rock. Any other enclosure, you won't feel the bass as much. This would also be good for your rap as well as your "other music." I have 1 12" Rockford Fosgate P1 in my mom's car and it hits with rap, feel it with rock (especially metal) and hear the softness in oldies and the Elton John music types too. So it really doesnt matter what woofer you get, as long as its powered correctly and in a sealed enclosure. But I would recommend Memphis for sure.
New Head units comming out HELP!! please?
My friend has 1 12" Memphis... Words can't describe it. I have 2 Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.'1's. Way better than my friends Memphis, even if he had 2 or more of those Memphis'. Right now, my amp is at the repair shop at Tweeters. So my woofers are sitting in my room. I just got a new pair of 10.1's again. Sorry, off topic :)
Is there a way to play my motorola razr mp3's through my car speakers?
My answer would be a 12" speaker with a 1000 watt amp.You would also need a bass boom box.I think it is better to have one speaker than 2 more thump and power.
