If you are not sure about what you are doing get someone in who does! Especially if the CD player is an expensive one! One wrong wire and you could blow the CD player.

dude its easy, i own my own car audio and installation shop, best thing for you is to go to auto zone get a wire harness for your car, just ask them at the desk what your looking for , than you need a harness for the radio, that matches with your car it will hold your radio in only thing you have to figure out is how to get it out of your carTell me the make & model of car and I'll tell you the best way! :)

It all depends on the vehicle that the head unit is going into. Most head units are what is called a single din. You will have to determine the size of the factory head unit that is going to be removed from the vehicle (single din, din and a half, or double din) this will determine if a mounting kit is needed. If the head unit that is going to be removed is larger than the head unit that is going to be installed then a mounting kit is needed. Don't waste your money on the cheap mounting kits from Walmart. Go to a car audio store close to you and ask to purchase a mounting kit specific the the make model and year vehicle that you have and it will be the right size to fill the gap that will be left from the factory radio.
