Is a 500 watt amp good for a car audio system with two tens or is that not very good anymore?

Question:

Answers:

What do you think of the new mmat amps looking at the mmats 1500.1 or the 1000.1.?

depends on what kind of sound u are looking for and how many watts the subs are. a 500W RMS amp 2 channel is decent to run two 10's that are around 300W-500W RMS. u won't get deep bass from most 10's though unless they are rated 500W or more.

If you have an alpine stereo installed for $189....?

Our ears have not changed much. 30watts is actually good enough. 500 is over-kill. I had a 3000 watt power amp for my P.A. to play in clubs and out-doors. It was good enough. 500 is fine.
