well 4 subs is alot of power, and VERY loud. but when ppl say just one is good. that may be true, but u need a very good sub for one to do wut 2 will. i have 2 subs and its a huge difference compared to just one. 2 subs makes ur system so much better than one. so id go with 2 subs. check out kicker subs. they hit really hard.Can i bridge a cd decks power wires?

Balance: I think one would be adequate. Expect you will have more problems getting an equal amount of power (and penetration) through your tweeters.

a good sub might mean it has more xmax and more sensitive so it requires less power but still puts out same spl. compared to 2 crappy subs
a 3db increase is what your after which could be doubling your amp power(and staying with 2 subs) or doubling the cone area and getting four subs in total. In the end, if you like it, go for it and demo 4 in your car.
