Question About Tweeter Gain On Crossover for Componet System?

Question:
All of the crossovers for the componet sets I bought have a "tweeter gain" switch that is selectible from 0db to -3db

What amp do i buy?

How will this switch alter the sound

Answers:

Speaker wireing configuration, (parallel vs. series),ohme and wattage info?

-3db is quieter. Just leave it on 0db so they're nice and loud, if the tweeters seem way too loud though, then put it on -3
