Question:
So, I have a dual xdm 7510 (brand new) and an alpine cdm 9821 (a few years older). Seeing as I am incapable of deciding which one I want and which one to give to my sister I have to turned to my peers to make the decision a bit easier. I had a dual in my car and it broke when my niece put a quarter in the cd player. The warranty got me a new one. And I got this alpine for my birthday from ebay.

Would somebody tell me which one to keep? Which is going to sound better and will having the alpine make up for not having mp3 capability? I rarely use it but feel like I would miss it either way. Tell me what to do!

Would this amp work for these subwoofers?
I agree with the previous post. Not just because of the mp3 format. Alpine makes a very good unit. Dual is not that good of a brand and I would not want to install something in my vehicle that was not reliable. The cheapest I would go is JVC.What is wrong with sony xplod?
I don't look down on mp3 if it is in the right format. Sony has a reciever that you take the face plate off and connect it to the USB port on your computer. It has one Gigabyte of memory which the avarage file being 5MB you can get about 200 songs on it. Also there are others that have a USB cable that allow you to connect a thumb drive for music.
Connecting 6.5 inch speaker to an amp?
As far as the audio quality if the source of the MP3 is good your hearing is not sensative enough to tell the differance, especially in a car enviroment. A USB MP3 capable reciever will run you about $250 to $400 depending on make but well worth the investment.
As in new technology CD's are starting to become a thing of the past just as in cassettes the CD has been out since late 1982 there hay day is coming to a close.
Can I power 2,120 watts of max power on two 1000 watt amplifiers?
I think in the future you will find most things going to MP3 format. Another + about USB MP3 is you can connect it to your computer and change the song files. MP3 CDRs are ok but when they get scratched it is hard for the player to read them.
Car Stereo Question - which one will fit in the existing opening?
In the future avoid Dual and other economy units such as Pyramid. A good brand like the Alpine will give you years of good service.
Extended response to my prior question.?
Good luck!!
What car amplifier should i buy ?
Alpine! And just because it doesn't have mp3 decoding does not make it bad. Anyways mp3 files are compressed and have poorer sound quality. That is why decks are coming out with mediaxpanders and BBE so they boost the sound from an mp3 file.More Questions & Answers ...
