i have a 1 year old sony stereo in my car with a cd player and everytime i put a CD in it says no tracks to display yet u can get cds 10years old which display! who is it down to the cd manufactere or my tempremental cd player?(not tht i play cds much neway i jus use my ipod SOOOO much easy and dont have to worry bowt it gettin scratched n stuff! jus wonderin thts all!

I think your question has to do with CD Text where some audio CDs contain track and artist info. All Sony decks will display CD Text, but only if it was encoded on the disk originally.Is it better to have your Subs facing your backseat or your trunk?
Depending on who is the Record Label that recorded the CD, the info may or may not be there. All disks made by Sony have this info, others don't. If you burn your CDs from your computer, I know NERO has an option "Write CD Text" to the compilation.

Depending on which manufacturer you look at and from which timeframe the player was made you will have machines that use differing internal technology.

At the time of manufacture they either went for readily availble chipsets or cheaper ones. Hence the reduction in functionality. As the better chipsets became available and or cheaper they have started to use them.
