I own a Panasonic unit (about a year old) with the stock Bose system speakers in my 91 300ZX. When I put the volume up past 18, the stereo shuts off. Then it comes back on then cuts off again. It seems like its a power problem because it shuts off when I past a certain volume. Sometimes I can go up to 20 then it will shut off. I have a new battery installed too. I can't find the problem. I'm not smart in car stereo so I need your guy's help. Thanks in advance!

More than likely it is something internal in the stereo itself. I doubt it is a vehicle fuse because it keeps coming back on. You might also check for a short OR a loose power wire coming from the battery. If it only happens when you have a lot of volume, I would say check your incoming ground a power wires as they might not be able to transmit enough voltage to keep the stereo running. It could be a power problem, however it could also be the protection circuit in the Panasonic. I think you need to check your speakers/wiring first. You will need to check the load on the amplifier from the speaker wiring. I think your best bet is a trip to your local car audio place. It shouldn't take them long at all to find the fault.
